Physio@DanceBase
...for your back problems
An exclusive partnership between Dance Base and a Chartered Physiotherapist
Here to help
I am a Chartered Physiotherapist with a breadth of experience treating the many injuries, joint and muscle problems which come our way.
My special interest is in back pain which often lingers for weeks / months and can be accompanied by symptoms in the leg(s) and feet, when nerve irritation is present.
My aim is to provide clear information, to help allay fears and anxiety and importantly get people back to doing the things they want to do.
I also have a prescribing qualification and would be happy to offer advice about medication
Bloomin' back pain!
Acute/recurrent back pain – can last for days/weeks+
Chronic back pain – can last for months and years
We know …
It can be intensely painful and rarely serious
It is often difficult to pinpoint the reason why back pain comes on … I just woke up with .. was just bending over..
Back problems can send symptoms to the pelvis/hips/legs/feet - pain/numbness/pins & needles/weakness .. with or without any back pain being present

About Me
Dancing was my passion when I was young and took up all of my spare time before I faced the reality that a dancing career was unlikely.
My focus turned to physiotherapy and over the years I have worked in the NHS, the private sector and abroad. My scope of practice incudes working in sport and with Scottish rugby.
Latterly I was the lead physiotherapist for an orthopaedic back pain service in an NHS trust.
I feel as if I have come full circle now that I am dancing again and have the pleasure of using my skills as a physiotherapist and dancer to help people become active and feel better in their body and mind.
